The goal of this chapbook was to create a book with content from history in some form of art before the Bauhaus movement. I chose to do a book on Persian Art, which is essentially a dead civilization and attempt to bring it back to life since it influences so many different forms of art today.
I used typefaces that I felt reflected Persian art as a whole, which would include Mason, Cinzel, and Dosis. Mason being a stylized typeface, I used it on break pages, and only for big headings. I used Cinzel for small headings because Mason seemed too much at a smaller scale, and I felt Cinzel paired well with it. Then I chose Dosis for the body copy since it is a modern san serif font, which I felt made the book feel elegant and clean, and brought a little more modern taste to an ancient topic. The paper stocks I chose were Royal Sundance Sunflower for the cover, Strathmore Premium Wove Natural White for the interior pages, and then Esse Pearlized Latte for the break/title pages.
